The Health Care Centre works as a part of the Medical Centre Subotica, as an individual work unit. The specific thing about the Health Care Centre in Subotica is that it isn’t located in one place, but it is spread throughout the city, more exactly throughout the municipal region and counts 11 health care stations in the city, 13 in the suburban region, as well as the Dispensary for lung disease and tuberculosis, Emergency services ward, Center for prevention of diseases and ambulances of work medicine.
This organization of the Health Care Centre is inherited from its establishment and beginnings in the post-war period, after 1950 and has positive and negative characteristics. Prominently positive characteristic of this sort of organization is a health care that is brought closer as much as possible to its consumers, and the negative are the increased difficulties of employing all types of personnel and costly maintenance and renovation of objects and equipment.
